Miyazaki Enterprises was founded on the principals of striving to be better and improving on the status quo.
From developing a better way for Residents to train and gain experience with vaginal surgery to creating a standardized, anatomically correct simulator for allied health gynecologic education, Miyazaki Enterprises has always operated with the student and instructor in mind.
Dr. Miyazaki, the founder of Miyazaki Enterprises and a Board-Certified OB/GYN, completed both medical school and residency at Wake Forest Baptist Medical Center in Winston Salem, North Carolina. Innovation and problem solving have always been a part of the Miyazaki tradition. Dr. Miyazaki is the son of Dr. Fred Miyazaki, inventor of the Miya Hook and pioneer of the Saline Amnioinfusion technique for repetitive variable fetal heart rate decelerations for obstetrical deliveries.
The Miya Model was developed in response to the need for a training tool that would provide lifelike quality, tactile feel, and surgical realism while delivering cost efficient training. After assessing these variables, Dr. Miyazaki determined that if designed appropriately, model-based simulation training could provide an ideal solution.
Miyazaki Enterprises has taken a rigorous scientific and academic focused approach to developing the Miya Model. Through three generous grants from the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child and Human Development (NICHD) have helped fund the development and validation of the Miya Model and associated education platform. We continuously strive to demonstrate validation for the Miya Model to ensure we provide the best tools for your simulation needs.
